World's Largest Fish Moved by UPS to Georgia Aquarium, 2006
Plaster, resin, pigment
8 x 24 x 30 inches
In 2005 the world’s largest aquarium opened in Atlanta, Georgia.
The aquarium’s whale sharks, the world’s largest fish, came from Taiwan, delivered by UPS on a B-747. The movement of the whale sharks is believed to be the first in history for this species. A year long preparation took place to bring the first two whale sharks, Ralph and Norton, on their 60 hour trip to the aquarium. UPS is the only airline to fly the species across the Pacific.
